AI Data Disclosure — Just Be Real Last updated: 22 April 2026

Just Be Real uses artificial intelligence to power meaningful parts of the app. We believe you deserve to know exactly how, where, and why your data is processed by AI before you consent.

What AI we use

We use Anthropic's Claude AI model via Anthropic's API. Anthropic is a US-based AI safety company. All AI processing happens on Anthropic's servers as per their safety protocol, not on your device.

Where AI is used in Just Be Real

AI processes your data in these specific features:

  1. Poona sessions — Your conversations with Poona are sent to Anthropic as per their safety protocol to generate responses and analyze conversation parameters (depth, authenticity, presence, self-awareness).
  2. Therapy persona sessions — Conversations with the Monk, Traveller, Friend, Ex, and Matriarch are sent to Anthropic as per their safety protocol to generate responses and score engagement parameters.
  3. Avatar-to-avatar conversations — When you're matched with someone, your avatar (trained on your Poona and therapy sessions) has conversations with their avatar. These conversations happen via Anthropic as per their safety protocol.
  4. Vibes compatibility scoring — Your values, interests, and quirks are analyzed by Anthropic as per their safety protocol to calculate compatibility with potential matches.
  5. Logic Gate audits — If enabled in a coffee chat, Anthropic as per their safety protocol analyzes the conversation to generate a communication pattern report.
  6. Module sessions — AI-guided structured exercises in the PowerUp tab send your responses to Anthropic as per their safety protocol for analysis.
  7. Discussion quality scoring — 48 hours after a discussion thread ends, Anthropic as per their safety protocol scores the quality of contributions. This runs in the background.

What AI does not do

• AI does not read your village discussions in real-time • AI does not process your photos • AI does not generate content in your name • AI does not make matching decisions alone — you set your own thresholds • AI does not share your data with other users

What data is sent to Anthropic

Only the text content of the specific conversation or exercise you're participating in. Your name, email, phone number, location, and photos are never sent to Anthropic. Your data is not used to train Anthropic's models — Anthropic's API terms prohibit training on customer data.

Your rights

• You can use Just Be Real without consenting to AI processing. Villages, handshakes, and human-to-human coffee chats work without AI. • You can withdraw AI consent anytime in Settings → Data & Privacy. • Withdrawing consent stops future AI processing immediately. Past conversations remain stored unless you delete your account. • You can delete your account and all data anytime via Settings → Delete Account.

Data retention

Conversations processed by AI are stored on our servers to train your avatar and improve your experience. They are never shared with other users. When you delete your account, all conversation data is permanently erased.
